MFM Rotation ultrasound – PGY 3 Objectives

 

Objectives

 

Understand the diagnosis and management of fetuses at risk for anemia Gyn ultrasound

 

  • Recognize and describe ultrasound evaluation of anatomic locations of leiomyomas.
  • Recognize endometrial abnormalities Recognize and describe  sonographic characteristics of  polycystic ovaries, hemorrhagic cysts, endometriomas, teratomas, ovarian fibromas.
  • Recognize and describe the sonographic characteristics of tubal pathology such as hydrosalpinges, tubo-ovarian abscesses.
  • Recognize and describe sonographic characteristics of adnexal torsion Recognize and describe sonographic characteristics of malignant adnexal masses.
  • Use 2D and 3D ultrasound for IUD location.

 

Ultrasound in the Second and Third Trimester  - Normal and abnormal

 

  • Understand basic 3D techniques for ob scanning.
  • Understand indications for detailed  fetal ultrasound and CVS/Genetic amniocentesis.
  • Recognize and describe normal fetal CNS and spine  anatomy and common malformations.
