Objectives

 

Fetal Growth  Abnormalities

 

  • Explain and perform umbilical and middle cerebral artery Doppler in the evaluation of fetal growth restriction.
  • Recognition of LGA and its management.

 

Placental abnormalities

 

  • Recognize and describe the role of ultrasound in assessment for placenta previa.
  • Recognize and describe the role of ultrasound in assessment for placental abruption.
  • Explain risk factors and the sonographic diagnosis of vasa previa.
  • Explain risk factors and the sonographic diagnosis of cesarean scar pregnancy and morbidly adherent placenta.
 

Ultrasound Evaluation of Twin Gestations

 

  • Describe methods of determining twin placentation.
  • Explain the role of ultrasound in follow-up of Twin gestation.
  • Explain the role of ultrasound in the diagnosis and management of twin to twin transfusion syndrome.
  • Explain the role of ultrasound in the evaluation of twin anemia-polycythemia sequence and selective growth restriction in monochorionic twins.
  • Recognize and describe the sonographic findings with monochorionic – monoamniotic twins.
  • Recognize and describe the sonographic features of conjoined twins Recognize and explain ultrasound estimation of amniotic fluid volume in twin gestations.
